2015, you were beautiful

Oh, 2015, you were beautiful.

I sit here pinching myself over the year I have been lucky enough to have. I am incredibly grateful for ALL of my amazing clients - from weddings, corporate events, newborns, family sessions, etc. - you all made this past year absolute perfection. Thank you for laughing with (or at) me, for being patient as I try my hardest to keep up with all the ins and outs of this little company all on my own, and most importantly for trusting me to capture such incredible moments in your lives this past year. There are not enough words, or emojis, in the world to explain how overwhelmed and thankful I am for you all!!

Below are some wedding highlights from this past year. I wish I could include EVERY wedding/event/life moment in this post, but y'all would be scrolling through photos forever ;) Over the next few months I will be reflecting back on events and weddings from 2015 on my blog to share more from each with you all.

2016 sure does have a lot to live up to! Here we go!

Creative at Heart Conference - Charleston, SC

Last week, I stepped way outside my comfort zone. I hit the road to Charleston, SC for the Creative at Heart Conference, my first conference ever, all by myself! For those who know me well, know that I am an introvert through and through. So, I swallowed my nerves and headed to a place I had never been with people I hadn't met before. If I had known that I would walk away with so many new sweet friendships, knowledge of how to love and serve my clients better, and countless life changing "a-ha!" moments, I would never have been as nervous as I was to attend.

I spent most of my time with my hilarious roommate, Lyndsey, and our table mates (it was totally fate), Jess & Mackenzie. We woke up each morning before sunrise to photograph each other and the beautiful city that is Charleston. We laughed and cried together, and left the conference with huge hugs and countless memories we made. We heard some of the top industry leaders speak and share their knowledge and hearts with all of us, encouraging us to live our lives and dreams to the fullest and be true to ourselves. Sharing laughter and tears at the end of the day with these amazing leaders (hint hint, that may be why my face is so red and swollen in the iPhone photos below with Katelyn, Mary, and Amy & Jordan!). We spent the evenings with new friends, sharing challenges and successes with each other, trying new food, and making memories that will stay with me forever.

I'm SO excited to love and serve my clients better, to continue to capture life's biggest moments so you have those precious memories for years to come, and to continue to push myself to step outside my comfort zone and grow. Sometimes life's greatest moments are just outside your "safe place".

Dilia joined us as we photographed each other and Rainbow Row in Charleston before our flights took us back home! Can you stand how beautiful this city is (and these gorgeous girls!)?!

We even bumped into Alicia as she captured beautiful portraits of Katelyn & Michael!

And now for some good ole iPhone photos!

Heather & David - Wedding Day!

Heather & David - Wedding Day!

My first wedding of 2015 was one heck of way to kick off the year! Heather & David tied the knot in Georgetown and had a beautiful classic DC wedding reception at Anderson House. The amount of quiet moments between these two throughout the day was everything I dream of on a wedding day. The sweet way they looked at each other and how they touched foreheads during prayer was simply beautiful! Ugh, their love is just the sweetest!

I've always had a strong love for the vintage pieces that my mom collected throughout the years, but having a more modern style personally, the desire to marry these two worlds together has always been in the back of my mind. After picking up a few special vintage pieces from my parent's home and incorporating them into a more modern setting, the concept of a Modern Vintage inspiration shoot began. These two style concepts really go beautifully together!

Pulling together DIY geometric himmelis, a DIY pallet table and a variety of metals and vintage pieces (including our coordinators cherished grandmothers gold band) created a lovely ethereal setting. By adding in the lush greens and old mill ruines at the Mill at Fine Creek and all the beautiful pieces from our talented team of vendors, we brought this inspired shoot to a whole new level of pretty! The best part? It's incredibly obtainable with plenty of DIY pieces and special touches that any bride can make happen for their own big day without breaking the bank.

Allow me to reintroduce myself...

Title bar_reintro letter_gradiant.jpg

I am so excited to share some exciting news I have been working on for several months ! I can officially announce that BB Shots Photography is now...Becca B Photography! This rebranding process has been such a joy and it's been so fulfilling to fine tune my style/vision and create a better connection with my past, present and future clients. I'll be including a new blog which will feature my most recent work, along with plenty of throwbacks! I hope you feel the happiness, delicate moments, and excitement that the new Becca B Photography represents.

Our sweet hand-drawn new logo was created by the talented and lovely Splotch & Line (whom I often refer to as my creative soulmate). A million heartfelt thank you's to Brooke for her patience and creativity throughout this process. A huge thank you to Rachel May, of Rachel May Photography, as well for her guidance and support when I first began the rebranding process. Rachel's ability to see my vision through the fog was the greatest start to this endeavor I could ever ask for. And lastly, to my incredibly encouraging husband who pushes me more every day to be more then I thought possible - you are the light and love of my life!

With a whole hearted thank you to my clients, colleagues, family & friends who have offered support and encouragement throughout this journey, I am forever grateful.

xoxo - Becca
